Open to full-time Aboriginal* secondary (Grade 11 and 12) and post-secondary students attending an accredited institution and who will be returning to full-time* studies in the next academic term. Proof of education will be required.

*Aboriginal person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, a Métis or an Inuit. North American Indians or members of a First Nation include status, treaty or registered Indians, as well as non-status and non-registered Indians. Only those candidates self-identifying as Aboriginal persons (as per the definition above) will be screened into this selection process.

*Students enrolled in studies on a part-time basis due to a disability that is recognized by their academic institution are also eligible to apply.

The process will fill various positions from December 2017 to August 2018 and provide students with various length assignments.

This staffing process will be used to staff Aboriginal student positions in a number of business lines including but not limited to:

• Audit
• Revenue Collections
• Tax Centre
• Call Centre
• Other Corporate Program Areas such as Human Resources, Information Technology and Finance and Administration

Employment tenures, work locations, linguistic requirements as well as security clearance levels may vary according to the position(s) being staffed.

Duties

Key Activities

Depending on the assigned work area, students may be given a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

• Providing a variety of administrative support services using various computer software programs
• Processing and data entry, searching databases and producing reports
• Communicating with a variety of internal and external clients, providing information or advice of a general nature
• Analyzing financial and non-financial information

Full-time* Aboriginal students attending an accredited secondary (Grade 11 and 12) or post-secondary educational institution and who will be returning to full-time* studies in the next academic term.

*Applicants will be asked to have their secondary (Grade 11 and 12) or post-secondary institution sign the Student Enrollment Verification form as proof of current full-time enrolment. At a later date, students may be asked to provide a copy of their enrolment schedule.

Results from the assessment of qualifications may be used to select candidate(s) for appointment. Assessment results from locally developed tools are not portable to other staffing processes.

Security Status/Clearance

An integral part of the Personnel Screening Program requires that all candidates being appointed into the CRA be subject to a reliability check. This includes the verification of reliability, employment history, and police records and could include fingerprinting. The Personnel Screening Program was implemented to protect information that is departmentally sensitive or sensitive to the national interest by ensuring that all persons engaged by CRA meet standards of reliability, trustworthiness and loyalty required by the nature of their duties or tasks.

When attending any tests and/or interview sessions, candidates may be required to complete Personnel Screening forms so that a reliability check can be conducted. When completing the personnel security clearance form, you will be required to provide complete addresses for the places you resided in the last five years, including the year(s) and month(s) for each residence. If you were residing outside of Canada in the last five years, you may experience a delay in obtaining a security status/clearance.

In addition, candidates may be required to provide the original and photocopies of two of the documents listed below. Please note that one must be a photo ID. Photocopying services will not be provided.
