Various clerical positions will be filled from this posting. Many of the positions require, but are not limited to: resolving enquiries from taxpayers, their representatives, or employees of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), either by telephone or written correspondence.

This staffing process will be used to fill positions of following group and level SP-03 :

  • SP0238 Initial Verification or Electronic Processing Resource Clerk - Individuals
  • SP0281 Accounts and Benefits Processing Clerk
  • SP0289 Administrative Clerk
  • SP0290 Assessment Processing Clerk
  • SP0298 Assessment, Accounts, and Benefit Processing Clerk – Individuals
  • SP3000Verification and Information Returns Processing Clerk
  • SP0292 Accommodation and Telecommunications Clerk
  • SP0322 Repairperson

Some of the duties you may be required to perform may include:

  • Examination and correction of tax and information returns;
  • Processing of applications for social benefit programs;
  • Assessment and/or adjustments of individual client tax returns;
  • Validation and review of income and deductions claimed;
  • Updating and entering data into mainframe systems or personal computers.
  • Validation of returns and requests for refund.
  • Providing technical support to team members and review examined tax returns

Who can apply?

Persons residing in Canada and Canadian citizens residing abroad.

Preference for appointment will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order.

The area of selection includes individuals with preferred status who live or work within the general rule of minimum distance of the position(s) being staffed.

Please note that this process will be used to staff positions at the Jonquiere office only. As a result, we will expect candidates appointed from this process to relocate to this location. You will have to pay any expenses related to relocation.

Qualified veterans, members and former members of the Canadian Forces who are appointed are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defense.

Please note that the Jonquiere Tax Centre is in a unilingual French region. The official working language is therefore French.

To be eligible, you'll need to meet the following requirements :

  • A secondary school diploma before July 15, 2019 or CRA-approved alternatives.

Candidates with foreign educational credentials must also provide an assessment document indicating that their education has been found equivalent to a recognized Canadian institution.  Any applicable fees to obtain this assessment document are the candidate's responsibility. Essential

Any essential staffing requirements indicated below will be assessed/applied at a later date and may be used for appointment.

* This qualification will be evaluated throughout all phases of the selection process using principles governing ethics and professionalism by direct or indirect observations by the jury members.

Positions to be staffed from this staffing process will be bilingual. Candidates must be able to work in both official languages, English and French. Second Language Evaluation (SLE) testing will be administered, as required, using the Public Service Commission's SLE tests.

We invite you to complete the self-assessment tests that will offer an indication of the proficiency level you may achieve on the official SLE tests.
