Work location : Ottawa

  • If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay for any relocation costs if you receive an offer of employment.
  • Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.
  • Virtual reporting will not be possible. You will need to physically work in Ottawa.

WHO CAN APPLY

BEFORE THE EVENT

We strongly encourage you to register by clicking on the apply button at the bottom of this poster, to reduce delays at the event.

TO BRING TO THE EVENT

  • Multiple copies of your resume
  • Proof of citizenship, permanent residency or work permit– original and 1 copy
  • *Completed Security Form (Section B and C) - This will be used to get you the required security status/clearance.
  • Proof of education (1 copy) - Check the CRA's Minimum education standards. Alternatives may be accepted, depending on the position.
    • For accounting/audit positions, also bring a copy of your transcript.
  • *Contact information of two references (preferably most recent supervisors) to validate your performance. For former CRA employees, this must include your most recent CRA supervisor.

* If you are a CRA employee, you do not need to bring the security form and references.

Assessment

AT THE EVENT

Assessments will be conducted the day-of, or soon after the event.

At the event, the hiring manager will let you know the required level of education, specialization(s), field(s) of study, abilities, skills, experience and/or knowledge for their position. You will need to meet the requirements of the position(s) in order to be considered.

The required pass mark for the assessments will depend on the position being staffed. A top-down approach may be used.

If you are NOT currently residing near the National Capital Region:

  • Virtual consideration is offered.
  • By end of day (11:59 PM Eastern time) October 31st, 2019, you must complete the questionnaire we will send you AND send a copy of the above mentioned documents to NCR-RCN-EVEN-RECRU@cra-arc.gc.ca
  • Virtual applications will be considered equally to those in-person.
  • If you do not contact us prior to this deadline, you will need to come to the event in-person to be considered.

Due to the large quantity of interested individuals, the staffing board will not pay for any expenses, including travel costs, related to the candidates' participation in this event.

Other requirements / conditions of employment managers may use to select a candidate

  • Willingness and ability to work overtime
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Valid Driver's License or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver's license
  • Willingness to work shifts or a flexible schedule (including weekends and statutory holidays)
  • Willingness and ability to work on evenings and/or on weekends

AFTER THE EVENT

If selected, you will receive a conditional letter of offer the day of the event, or soon after. Once all conditions are met, you will then receive an official letter of offer.

Conditions may include obtaining a security clearance, and other requirements such as obtaining a pass mark for a test. For instance, if the position is bilingual, the manager will send you for Second Language Evaluations to confirm if you meet the required level of language proficiency.
