Please note that this process will be used to staff positions in Laval only. As a result, we will expect candidates appointed from this process to relocate to this location. Candidates from the general public will have to pay any expenses related to relocation as well as any travel for assessments.

Duties

Prepare appraisal reports and consultation reports, on all types of real estate properties. Review and complete the examination of appraisal reports as submitted by taxpayers supporting their estimation of value. Also act as an expert witness in court and provide consultative services to the Tax Services Offices.

To accomplish its work, the real estate appraiser will have to interact with stakeholders both internal and external to the CRA.

Essential
To be eligible, you'll need to :

• Meet the minimum education standard:
Successful completion of two years of postsecondary education, with an acceptable specialization in statistics, accounting, economics, business administration, history, sociology, a law-related field, or other specializations relevant to the position
AND one of these programs:
-A successfully completed study program from L'Ordre des Évaluateurs Agréés du Québec (OÉAQ) and also possess the professional designation of certified Appraiser (Évaluateur Agréé: ÉA)
OR
A successfully completed study program set by the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) and hold the Accredited Appraiser Institute AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute) designation from the AIC.

A *recognized postsecondary institution is defined as a Canadian public or private institution that is recognized or authorized to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of the provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism.

The institution must be listed in the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials.

You must attach in your Candidate profile your proof of education or any relevant documents.

• Possess a work experience normally acquired of 3 years in the last 5 years in complex real estate appraisal of residential, commercial and industrial properties and an experience in preparing appraisal reports of residential, commercial and industrial properties, of all size.
