No Experience Required.

However, for those interested in the Collections Contact Officer Position, please indicate how you meet one or more of the experience criteria below on the questionnaire, as we may use these to screen applications for this position.

  • Experience in a collections environment in the private sector and/or government agency; collecting amounts owing from individuals or businesses, such as loans, credit card debts, mortgages, and/or trade accounts receivable. This includes, but is not limited to: skip tracing, initiating contact, investigating to uncover assets or sources of recovery, arranging appropriate follow-up, resolving complaints, granting of credit, making decisions or taking legal actions to resolve debts and negotiating satisfactory arrangements or outcomes.
  • Experience in administering credit in the financial services sector, or similar setting. This may include: investigations of credit worthiness, analysis of an applicant's financial situation and/or determination of the risk to the creditor for the granting of loans, mortgages, credit cards, trade credit, etc.
  • Experience working with clients in an enforcement environment. This should include some of the following: explaining and providing information about services, rules, laws, by-laws, resolving complaints or problems and/or responding to enquiries in person, by phone or letter and documenting the issues and resolution of the situation.

Assessment

The following qualifications WILL be assessed:

  • Cognitive abilities, Competencies, Traits, Drivers - Unsupervised internet test
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing in English
  • Effective Interpersonal Skills
  • Performance Validation

The following qualifications MAY be assessed:

  • Cognitive Ability – General Competency Test: Level 2 (GCT2)
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations
  • Second Language Evaluation (SLE) for any bilingual positions that may be staffed from this process

We may use these assessments to create a developmental pool which may be used to staff various lower level positions throughout the Pacific Region.

You will be notified in advance of any additional asset staffing requirements to be evaluated.

All requirements assessed in this staffing process may be used to identify candidates for positions.

Conditions of employment vary from one position to another and can include:

  • Willing and able to work 7.5 hours between 7:00am and 6:00pm
