As a Student Taxpayer Services Agent, you will work in a fast-paced call centre environment where you will answer telephone enquiries from taxpayers and their representatives on a variety of matters. The successful candidates will be able to accept ownership for effectively solving taxpayer issues, complaints, and enquiries. The agent offers quality client service to meet the taxpayer's needs. You must demonstrate courtesy, empathy, and professionalism. This position is ideal for those who like to help others and communicate with taxpayers in answering their enquiries.

This position will require the regular daily use of a headset and a computer.

This staffing process will only be used to offer temporary appointments for employment for less than six months.

The pool established from this staffing process may be used to staff similar student positions in the Lower Mainland, BC.

The position may require the successful candidates to work from home or at our FVTSO Call Centre.

Who Can Apply

Students who are currently enrolled full-time in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution and who will be returning to full-time studies in the next academic term. The students must be residing in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia.

Students enrolled in studies on a part-time basis due to a disability that is recognized by their academic institution are also eligible to apply.

Proof of enrollment will be required with your name and institution. See examples below:

  • Letter from Registrar
  • Transcripts which specifically state your enrolment status
  • Tuition invoice
  • Other acceptable documents providing enrolment status

Non-Canadians living in Canada with a work visa can apply; however, preference for appointment will be given to veterans and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Please indicate your citizenship status on your candidate profile.

The closing date and time indicated on this notice of job opportunity may change. It may be extended or shortened, based on the number of applications received. We may give preference to the first 50 applications meeting the staffing requirements to apply and consider more applications as needed. Education

Secondary School Diploma

You must upload your education credentials in the education section of your candidate profile and submit all required documents by the closing date and time of this poster. Failure to do so can result in your application not being considered further.

Assessment

Essential staffing requirements indicated below will be assessed/applied during the staffing process and may be used to identify candidates for positions.

Testing is anticipated to be scheduled starting late September. We will be hiring for positions starting in January, 2021.

  • Unsupervised Internet Testing (UIT)
  • Dependability - Pass/Fail
  • Performance validation

Security clearance will be required. 

Asset staffing requirements may also be assessed/applied during the staffing process, which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Employment Equity
  • Budget considerations
  • Minimize business disruption
  • Program continuity
  • Availability throughout the appointment
  • Start date

You will be notified in advance of any additional asset staffing requirement(s) to be utilized.

Results from asset staffing requirements may be used to identify candidates for positions.

NOTE - Results from locally developed assessment tools are not portable to other staffing processes; however, the assessment stage of this staffing process will be run in collaboration with the co-op student staffing process. Candidates applying on these processes via their respective co-op departments will be assessed only once on common elements.
