This staffing process will be used to staff positions at the SU levels.  Your level of education will determine your classification:

  • SU-02 - College/CEGEP
  • SU-03 - University Undergraduate
  • SU-04 - Masters
  • SU-05 - Doctorate

You will be eligible to receive pay based on your level of education and the Students Rates of Pay.

Duties:

You will be part of the Canada Revenue Agency's (CRA) core business of tax administration and revenue collection. Your focus would be the provision of information to taxpayers and/or their representatives and the analysis, investigation, resolution and response to enquiries and requests for adjustments to taxpayer's returns and accounts resulting from the processing of prescribed forms and returns; which includes assessments, reassessments and related problems and complaints.

Duties may also include, but not limited to, opening mail, preparing returns for processing, preparing payments received for processing, keying tax payments, and other administrative tasks.

Language Requirements:

Various Language Requirements (English and Bilingual Imperative)

Some positions may require students to work in both official languages, English and French. 

Second Language Evaluation (Second Language Evaluation (SLE) Tests) will be administered as required using the Public Service Commission's SLE tests.  Requirements:  BBC/BBC (Reading Comprehension, Written Expression, Oral Proficiency).  Managers may assess the student's language proficiency using a locally developed assessment tool (LDT).

Who can apply:

Persons living in Canada and Canadian citizens living abroad who are currently enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies and who will be returning to full-time studies in the fall of 2021 at a *recognized postsecondary institution.

Part-time students are eligible to apply if they have a recognized disability, and are returning to part-time studies in the fall of 2021.

A *recognized postsecondary institution is defined as a Canadian public or private institution that is recognized or authorized to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of the provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. The institution must be listed in the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials.

Please note:

- This process will be used to staff student positions in Summerside and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island only. As a result, we will expect candidates appointed from this process to relocate to this location. You will have to pay any expenses (i.e. travel, relocation, etc.) related to this staffing process.

- Permanent residents and non-Canadian students with a valid work permit living in Canada may apply.  However, preference will be given to Canadian citizens who meet the job requirements.

- Please do not apply if you were employed in 2020 as a student at the Prince Edward Island Tax Centre or Tax Services Office. You will be considered from our rehire pool when staffing positions for summer 2021.

However, experience relevant to the position being staffed may be considered at appointment to identify candidates for placement.
