Your level of education will determine your classification and your student rate of pay:

  • SU-02 - College/CEGEP ($18.90 to $21.64)
  • SU-03 - University Undergraduate ($20.80 to $25.52)
  • SU-04 - Masters ($28.57)
  • SU-05 – Doctorate ($34.59)

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public health recommendations and restrictions  are in place across Canada and may change as circumstances evolve. You may be required to temporarily work remotely (e.g. from home). Further information will be provided if you are selected for the position.

Language requirements: this process may be used to staff English and/or Bilingual positions.

Who can apply:

For Fall 2022 and Winter 2023 positions:

Persons living in Canada or Canadian citizens living abroad, who self identify as Indigenous* and who are enrolled in full-time** studies at a recognized post-secondary institution during that specific semester.

For Summer 2023 positions:

Persons living in Canada or Canadian citizens living abroad, who self identify as Indigenous* and who are enrolled in full-time** studies at a recognized post-secondary institution during Summer 2023 or Fall 2023.

If you are a Student with a work/study permit, you may apply. However, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents who meet the essential requirements.

Proof of your academic enrollment in a recognized post-secondary institution will be verified at the time of appointment.

Proof of enrollment, with your name and institution, may include:

  • Letter from Registrar;
  • Transcripts which specifically state your enrolment status;
  • Tuition invoice;
  • Other acceptable documents providing enrolment status.

*An Indigenous person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, a Métis or an Inuit. North American Indians or members of a First Nation include status, treaty or registered Indians, as well as non-status and non-registered Indians.

**Students enrolled in studies on a part-time basis due to a disability that is recognized by their academic institution are also eligible to apply.

IMPORTANT: You must self-identify as an Indigenous person to move forward in this staffing process.

Experience

No specific work experience is required to apply. However, if you have any relevant experience or experience working for the Federal Government, please indicate the relevant experience on your resume.   • Willing to travel
  • Willing to work shifts or a flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends (including statutory holidays)  as applicable
  • Capacity to regularly lift objects weighing up to 10kg

Inventory:

An inventory of eligible candidates will be established for this staffing process based on each location* in Ontario. Applications will be reviewed as we receive them. Candidates that meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment. 

*Please note that as a result of this staffing process, position(s) will be staffed at 1 Front Street West, Toronto, ON, M5J 2X6. However, effective Fall of 2023, the work location associated with these positions will change to a new work location that is of close proximity to the following location: 25 St. Clair Avenue East, Toronto, ON, M4T 1M2. Thus, employees who occupy a position and/or are physically located at 1 Front Street West will be expected to move to the new work location.
