SP01 Positions

  • Keys information from returns and other source documents.
  • Uses bar-code reader to electronically capture data from Returns.
  • Verifies, edits and corrects captured data.
  • Plan and prioritize own workload of assigned tax returns, information returns, schedules and other source documents for keying to ensure work is completed within prescribed standards and deadlines.

SP02 Positions

  • Prepares and maintains tax returns for processing and storage; distributes files and documents; and provides general file maintenance, control and support services.
  • Maintains and updates records and files related to taxpayers and/or benefit recipients' returns, schedules and forms.
  • Handles incoming remittance mail, allocates payments to taxpayer accounts and prepares and reconciles daily bank deposits.
  • Analyzes and assesses information, documentation, and/or returns.
  • Some positions require performing repetitive tasks using electric staplers and labelers.

SP02 Positions in Mailroom, Warehouse and Print to Mail

  • Assists in the operation of printers and/or inserters.    
  • Provides material handling, mail and general services.                                                                                                          
  • Lift heavy boxes exceeding 10 kilograms and stand for long periods of time. 

SP01 Salary Range: $41,658 to $45,987
SP02 Salary Range: $47,765 to $52,724

When you apply to this staffing  process you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies.  As positions become available, applicants who meet the essential qualifications will be contacted.  These positions will be short term varying from two (2) to six (6) months. Although there will be no permanent employment from this staffing process, this is great opportunity to gain CRA experience and explore other opportunities within CRA. Positions are available for day, evening and midnight shifts.

We will create one or more pools of candidates eligible for this staffing process.

This staffing process may be used to staff similar positions in any CRA office located within the western region.

Persons residing within the City of Winnipeg and surrounding area within commuting distance;

AND eligible veterans and Canadian Forces members;

AND individuals with preferred status who live or work within the general rule of minimum distance of the position(s) being staffed.

Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.

Preference for appointment will be given to veterans, Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

Please note that this process will be used to staff positions in Winnipeg, MB only. If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay for any expenses related to your participation in this staffing process, as well as any relocation costs if you receive an offer of employment from this process. Virtual reporting may not be possible.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public health recommendations and restrictions are in place across Canada and may change as circumstances evolve. You may be required to temporarily work remotely (e.g. from home). Further information will be provided if you are selected for the position.

Essential staffing requirements

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements.

Education

  • Successful completion of a secondary school diploma

CRA will accept foreign education credentials as long as they have been assessed by a recognized credential assessment service. Candidates with foreign education credentials are required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate. For more information, you may refer to the Canadian Information Centre of International Credentials (http://www.cicic.ca).

Note: Prior to submitting your application, you must upload your essential education credentials in the EDUCATION SECTION of your Candidate Profile, demonstrating that you meet the essential education requirements for the position(s) being staffed. This proof may include a copy of your secondary school diploma; secondary school equivalence test; or degree, applied degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. If your education credentials are not uploaded, your application may not be considered further. Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts are not acceptable.
