What does the job entail?
As a tax auditor, you will be called to conduct income tax audits or excise tax audits of various entities, including corporations, partnerships and trusts, to ensure compliance with the laws governed by the Canada Revenue Agency.
Potential positions to be staffed via this process include, but are not limited to: Income Tax Auditor, Excise Tax Auditor, GST/HST Auditor and Business Intelligence Quality Assurance Officer. In addition, hiring managers can use this staffing process to staff similar positions at the AU-01 group and level in other divisions and branches of the CRA.

What is the intent of this process?
The intent of this process is to create pools of eligible candidates at locations nationwide where positions are available, or vacancies exist. Work locations for which you will be considered will be based on the address in your Candidate profile, with the aim of maximizing your opportunities to be considered in this process. Permanent CRA employees at the AU-01 group and level: Lateral moves within the AU group will not be offered as part of this staffing process. You may create and update your profile in the CRA National Mobility Bank to facilitate lateral moves, and you are encouraged to continue to apply to other staffing processes.
Permanent CRA employees who occupy an equivalent or lower level position outside the AU group: You are encouraged to apply for this opportunity to join the audit field, however you must still meet the essential education listed in this job posting.
Candidates will have the opportunity to specify for which language requirements they wish to be considered from the following: English Essential, French Essential or Bilingual Imperative (French and English – various levels).

What is the next step?
Candidates will move forward in the process depending on the staffing needs and vacancies. If you are identified as a potential candidate for an opportunity, the staffing board will screen your application. If you meet the essential requirement mentioned above, you will be notified.
Further assessments may be conducted to identify candidates for appointment. Any additional asset requirements will be communicated to candidates prior to being assessed or used.

Candidates who contravene one or more of the CRA’s Core Values throughout the course of this staffing process may not be considered further.
