Job duties

Develops, delivers, integrates, enhances, maintains and supports the operation of IT infrastructure, products, solutions, and services. This includes activities, such as:

  • programming IT solutions;
  • testing IT solutions and products;
  • writing technical specifications and documentation;
  • identifying and resolving problems;
  • providing technical assistance to colleagues and clients;
  • contributing to the enhancement of procedures;

Follows ITB policies, standards, and guidelines.

Maintains personal technical currency.

Please note that this process may be used to staff positions in various cities across Canada. Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.

Essential staffing requirements

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements.

 

Education

  • Meet the CRA’s minimum education standard for CS positions. (Alternatives will not be accepted).

 

Note: You MUST upload your education credentials in the education section of your Candidate Profile and attach it to your application to demonstrate that you meet the essential education requirements by the closing date and time of this poster. Failure to do so will result in your application not being considered further.

 

Note: If you completed a program outside of Canada you must provide proof of a Canadian equivalency, at your expense, through a recognized credential assessment service by the closing date and time of the poster.

 

Any of the following documents may be used as proof of education (Include everything possible to help review your program of study relating to the standard.):

  • Diploma or degree; or
  • Canadian equivalency for foreign degrees; or
  • Official transcript indicating graduation status with a signature and/or school seal; or
  • Letter of attestation that includes:
  1. Clear mention you have graduated with no conditions; and
  2. Your graduation date; and
  3. Signature of the Registrar (or an official member of the institution, for example, the Academic Chair).

Please note that education will be validated during this staffing process.

Candidates are encouraged to submit their online application, education credentials and all required documents as soon as possible. Candidates will be screened against the prerequisite staffing requirements on an on-going basis. If you meet the prerequisite staffing requirements, you will be invited to an assessment.

Assessment

Second Language Evaluation

Candidates interested in a bilingual position must be able to demonstrate their capabilities to work in English and French by achieving at least a BBB rating on the Public Service Commission's Second Language Evaluation (SLE) curriculum. The test is designed to evaluate second language proficiency to the required linguistic profile of BBB : B level for Reading Proficiency, B level for Written Expression, and B  level for Oral Proficiency.
