The Canada Revenue Agency takes pride in serving millions of Canadians each and every year.The  Finance and Administration Branch   is responsible to facilitate the delivery of Agency's programs and services by providing sound advice, products and services in diversified key functions: namely, financial and resource management, security, administration and real property.

Key activities:

Reviews investigation reports and files completed by investigators, and analysts, to ensure quality standards are met and ensuring the correct application of legislation, policies and procedures, within the parameters of an established framework and in accordance with the Canada Revenue Agency priorities, programs and the Directorate's mandate.

Develops Agency investigation strategies, processes and procedures for the successful investigation into allegations of employee misconduct.

Conducts interviews with those having direct or indirect knowledge of events or circumstances related to allegations of employee misconduct.

Prepares comprehensive reports on complex investigation findings.
Provides authoritative advice and functional input on the conduct of ongoing and potential investigations.

The pool established from this staffing process may be used to staff similar positions.

Employees of the Canada Revenue Agency working across Canada and federal public service employees in the National Capital Region, in organizations found under Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act.

Eligible veterans and Canadian Forces members

Preference for appointment will be given to veterans, Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

Some positions may require you to work from a specific Canada Revenue Agency office. As a result, if you are appointed from this process you may be expected to relocate to the location where the position is being staffed. Virtual reporting within Canada may be possible, if operational requirements permit. 

Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the Canada Revenue Agency. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.

Experience

Candidates applying for this position must meet a minimum of  five of the following essential experience criteria:

• Experience* planning, conducting, and completing administrative or workplace investigations, including interviews with respondents and witnesses.
• Experience* writing concise analytical reports that can withstand scrutiny and are completed within the established timeframe while managing a workload with conflicting priorities.
• Experience* reviewing reports to ensure quality standards are met and ensuring the correct application of legislation, policies and procedures, within the parameters of an established framework.
• Experience* mentoring and providing feedback to colleagues in work environments such as: investigations, compliance, conflict resolution or labour relations.
• Experience* providing written and verbal recommendations to managers (MG-06 level or above).
• Experience* researching, identifying, interpreting and analyzing legal, technical, financial or policy issues.
• Experience* in the delivery of a national compliance or collections program, or in a labour relations environment.

*Experience is normally associated with the performance of these functions as part of the major job duties for a period of 18 consecutive months in the past 24 months.
