About the job

Don't miss out on your opportunity to work for one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for five years running!

CRA prioritizes diversity and inclusion and is firmly committed to providing a diverse workforce that reflects the population we serve.  CRA's National Employment Equity (EE) Staffing Strategy strives to eliminate EE gaps for the four EE designated groups: Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and women. Where an EE gap exists at the time of appointment, EE may be used as an appointment criterion for permanent and temporary appointments/staffing actions over six months made through this process.

What is the intent of this process?

We are currently seeking talented candidates who self-identify as Indigenous Peoples*, Persons with Disabilities** or Women to fill positions at the SP-05 group and level at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

*Indigenous Peoples are any person who self-identifies as a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuk. North American Indians or members of a First Nation include Status Indians, Treaty Indians and Non-Status Indians.

**A person with a disability has a long-term or recurring physical, mental, sensory, psychiatric, or learning impairment and considers themselves to be disadvantaged in employment by reason of that impairment, or believes that an employer or potential employer is likely to consider them to be disadvantaged in employment by reason of that impairment, and includes persons whose functional limitations owing to their impairment have been accommodated in their current job or workplace.

CRA is looking for hard-working, self-motivated people to join our team. The ideal candidate would have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Analytical skills – to compile, summarize, analyze, and provide statistics, and reports to management, as well as analyse policy, legislation, and regulations.
  • Stellar interpersonal skills – to engage internal and external stakeholders in research projects and delivery of services to Canadians.
  • Technical skills – to develop and maintain online tools and information and explore the use of new and emerging technologies.
  • Problem solving skills – to review suggestions, complaints, and statistics to identify and resolve emerging trends or issues.
  • Creative skills – to showcase the Agency's efforts and results and educate Canadians on the administration of tax and benefit programs.

As of November 8, 2021, all employees of the CRA, including new hires, are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless accommodated based on a medical contraindication, religion, or another prohibited ground for discrimination as defined under the Canadian Human Rights Act and attest to their vaccination status.

The requirement to be fully vaccinated applies to all employees and new hires, whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This condition of employment applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the staffing process where it is necessary to verify conditions of employment, there will be a requirement to complete an attestation of vaccination status.
